It is deeply encouraging to know that writer's block is really my self-criticism at work, rather than a lack of skill.  Perhaps I can come up with a few questions to ask myself rather than engage in a self-defacing mental battle.  Thanks for the tip on the book and also for reminding me that learning is a way to restart the writing engine.

I bought THE WAR OF ART and while I enjoyed it immensely, hand to heart, I find that these Q&As break my writer's block. Mr McKee's right about it being fear - it's completely paralytic fear. But having him be in my head every day forces me to the studio to do some work. I've done more work in the last few months than the last few years because of this site.
