Adam Sandler in Funny People played a famous comic who acquired a fatal disease. it was the most interesting and engaging and smart I have ever seen Sandler. then in the middle of act two his disease went away. and so did my interest in the movie.

I believe Tom Hanks was in a movie called JOE VS THE VOLCANO which revolved around him having a terminal illness and going on an adventure. However, I haven't seen it.

The original was made in 1950 and starred Edmond O'Brien. It is grittier than the remake and I recommend seeing both.

The last film he mentions is called DOA. It was remade in the 80s with Dennis Quaid.

Anyone know the title of the last example Mr. Mckee gives? Would love to see that one!
